The Beauty of Poppies
The Beauty of Poppies is a digital RPG set in the American war against Afghanistan. It explores the lives of soldiers and their hardships, how they interact with their surroundings, the ramifications of their actions, and the futility of war. After all, can you truly be ethical while at war?
Explore the wartime life of the Corporal and his comrades in-arms in their struggle during the Afghanistan War. Find out what led to the Corporal’s involvement, the aftermath, and the reality of what being at war means.
I worked on this project during my summer 2019 Game Research and Design co-op at Northeastern University and was in charge of RPGMaker programming as well as script editing. It was published in 2020 as a part of the first edition of the Indiepocalypse zine. If you’d like a copy of the game, contact me.
