During my time at Jam City, I worked exclusively on MyDesign as a Game Designer. My main task was room creation, utilizing specs from the interior design curation team as well as the room framework from art and engineering in order to create a high-quality, playable challenges in Unity. In this process, I would be responsible for controlling how the player interacted with the level, by placing nodes and controlling what surfaces and furnitures were selectable and interactable. In addition, I was responsible for setting up the challenge’s rewards and UI flow I consistently worked as part of a cross-collaborative team, working with art, interior design, engineering, stakeholders, and more. In addition, I was placed at the forefront of many projects, such as the game’s tutorial, the initial test for the exterior design feature, and more.
As my first experience in the game industry, HGTV:MyDesign was immensely valuable experience as it showed me the pipeline from content ideation to release for individual challenges. As a live-operations designer, I experienced the constant release cadence and workflows that come with the territory, allowing me to be a designer who can easily meet deadlines and continually optimize processes in order to complete complicated processes within the sprint.
